Penta emerged in the WWE Universe a month ago to record-breaking fan applause. The masked superstar has piled up momentum and wins ever since. It’s been revealed now, how the two-time AEW champion has made big money for WWE, and how Penta was unique from their other luchadores.
Penta El Zero Miedo may not have win in his first Men’s Royal Rumble, but since then, the star has gone on to prove unbeatable, winning all of his first four singles bouts. Hours before last month’s big RAW debut awaited by fans worldwide, WWE Shop released his very first official collection of merchandise. Included in the offerings was a $74.99 replica mask lucha version that rapidly sold out. Fans were thrilled, and several questioned why AEW hadn’t taken advantage of such big opportunity earlier.
It appears WWE has grabbed the popularity of the mask, still selling them in big numbers. On INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Penta revealed that WWE had told him about the massive sales figures of the mask. He also spoke about the importance of the mask and how his case is different from legends such as Rey Mysterio and others who have worn similar iconic attire.
“This was a big surprise for me. Last night, somebody told me how many masks WWE has sold. It’s a big number. I can’t say what the number is, but I can say it’s a big number. I’m so proud. In my mind, ‘Let’s go.’ I cannot stop. I love the t-shirt. The mask is very special for me. Rey Mysterio and these guys use masks, but the Penta mask is different. It’s not only a Penta mask, it’s part of myself,” Penta said. [H/T – Fightful]
