Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins and Tom Banton will be available for first IPL 2020 match: KKR CEO
English batsmens Eoin Morgan, Tom Banton and Australia’s Pacer Pat cummins will join the KKR squad in Abu Dhabi a day
after the final ODI on September 16 in Manchester.
Kolkata Knight Riders first match is on September 23rd and Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins and Tom Banton will be available for opening match of KKR, if the authorities in Abu Dhabi have agreed to cut the quarantine period from 14 to 6 days, according to KKR CEO Venky Mysore.
Venky Mysore said that negotiations were still on with the Abu Dhabi authorities to shorten the quarantine period.
“While they are still negotiating with the authorities, we are reconciled to the fact that we may have to quarantine our three players”, Mysore was quoted on ESPNcricinfo.“They arrive on September 17, but our first game is on September 23 by which time they would have finished their six day quarantine. so it’s worked out well and good for the tournament.”
Abu Dhabi will follow the strict rules for the people who entering into Emirates from outside and should be in mandatory quarantine for 14 days. But players who remain in team bubble for six days are allowed to practice sessions according to the reports.
Dubai has no mandatory quarantine unless the player test positive. So, players traveling to Dubai will be available to their teams from day one and it was possible only if the player have come from another bio bubble.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians are the two teams in Abu Dhabi. The remaining Six teams are based in Dubai.
