Malakai Black (f.k.a Aleister Black) last WWE appearance came on May 21st episode of Friday Night Smackdown, in which the interfered in IC Title fatal four-way match and attacked Big E. WWE Universe were excited to see feud between these two superstars but unexpected Black was released by WWE.

The former Intercontinental Champion Big E recently had an interview with GiveMeSport and discussed about several topics. While speaking he also talked about his cancelled feud with Black and stated that he’s surprise by Black’s WWE release.
“I don’t know the plans. I had no idea. Obviously, we’d seen the vignettes for weeks and weeks, then he comes out at the end of the main event and kicks me in the face, so I think, ‘alright, it’s him and I. We’re going to run for a bit’. So I definitely was surprised [by his release],” Big E said.

“There’s such a difference in the way that we carry ourselves, in our characters, in many ways polar opposites. I think it could have made for a lot of fun,” concluded Big E.
Following Aleister Black’s WWE release, he soon signed with AEW and debuted with new name Malakai Black. While Big E won the Money In The Bank Ladder Match and got the guaranteed title shot against the the champion of his chosen.
